Visit to Essel World

Home of variety of rights adrenaline-pumping thrills exciting boat rides, scary roller coasters and much more.

Apart from the conventional features of a theme park such as rollercoasters and rides, Essel World is also host to Mumbai's first ice skating rink, spanning 3400 square feet. The park maintains the rink's temperature at a constant 4 degrees Celsius.

The dance floor is an added characteristic of the park that enables visitors to hold parties at the park. It enjoys coloured lights, high definition audio, and a glass dance floor. To maintain it's international demeanor the dance hall plays a fusion of Bollywood as well as Western music.

Additionally, the theme park also comprises a 6-lane bowling alley widely known as "Riki's Rocking Alley". The bowling alley consists of an in-built arcade as well as a restaurant, "Tandoori One", which serves vegetarian Indian cuisine. Other culinary options across Essel World include Southern Treat - serving traditional South Indian delicacies, Domino’s pizza, Taipan Chinese restaurant, Ohh! Mumbai - a taste of the local favorites, Happy Singh Da Dhaba – Punjabi cuisine, Petu's and Mother Dairy desserts.

Scattered across the park are the faces of the Fab-5, otherwise known as Essel World and Water Kingdom's mascots. The Fab-5 Bandwagon is an established merchandise store that provides visitors and customers the option to purchase low-priced souvenirs.

In 2010, Essel World launched a horror ride entitled "Monsters In the Mist", inaugurated by popular host, actor and first-ever winner of reality TV series "Rodies", Ranvijay, and the CEO of Essel World Shirish Deshpande. It was titled India's Scariest Ride.

The ride is a 6,000 square feet indoor dark ride, with a track and car system. It runs for a total of four minutes through a dark den filled with mist and fog amidst numerous thrills and adventures. The ride comprises more than 20 scenes, which are supported by state-of-the-art animatronics and hi-end audio. The ride was designed by renowned international dark attractions manufacturer "The Attraction Factory" established in Missouri, USA.

Off Roading

Off-roading is the activity of driving or riding a vehicle on un surfaced roads or tracks, made of materials such as sand, gravel, riverbeds, mud, snow, rocks, and other natural terrain. Types of off-roading range in intensity, from leisure drives with unmodified vehicles to competitions with customized vehicles and professional drivers.

Dune bashing

Dune bashing is a form of off-roading on sand dunes.

Desert Racing

High speed racing in the open desert includes chases and racing on a rough desert terrain with numerous pots and bumps at the maximum speed. 

Cross-country

Unlike stationary dune bashing that tends to revolve around a single star dune or one obstacle, cross-country off-roading is an activity that lasts several days on routes with desert or other terrain

Mudding

Mudding is off-roading through an area of wet mud or clay.The goal is to drive through as far as possible without becoming stuck.

Off-roading events  In some countries off-road activities are strictly regulated, while others promote cross country off road endurance events like the Dakar Rally, Baja 500 & 1000 Spanish Baja and the Russian Baja Northern Forest which are a test of navigation skills and machine durability.off road parks and motocross tracks also host a number of events and may be the only legal place to off-road in the area. Events include jamborees, rock crawling competitions, Mud Bog races, Top Truck Challenges and sand racing as well as many other events, such as the Tank Trap. Russia has very busy off-roading championship 5-7 starts every year.

Dil Chahta Hai Fort

The Chapora Fort is situated in North Goa. At a distance of 19km from Panjim Kadamba Bus Stand. It is one of the top tourist places in Goa.

Built, in red laterite stones, the fort has step slopes on all the sides and stands on an area which has irregular outer plan. This massive fort was constructed by the king of Bijapur, Adil Shah. This is one reason why it has been named Shahpura, which means the ‘town of Shah’. The Chapora Fort is one of the prime attractions of Goa.

The fort was built in order to keep a watch on the Hindu raiders who wanted to set up their territory in Goa. The fort was destroyed after the rule of Adil Shah and was rebuilt by the Portuguese in 1617, on the site of an earlier Muslim structure. The Portuguese troops surrendered to the Maratha ruler Smabhaji in 1684 but the locals were not too pleased with this situation and hence Marathas were forced to withdraw their forces from the fort in 1717. Portuguese took over it again and rebuilt the fort until they finally abandoned it 1892.

Today the Chapora Fort lies in ruins and although one can see the heads of the two tunnels to aid in escaping in case of na emergency. The massive ramparts and scattered Muslim tombstones are all that is left of this fort. The fort gives a spectacular view of the Vagator and the Anjuna Beach.

There are no particular visiting hours to visit this fort, however early morning and evening are preferred as you can get some great views during these hours. Sunset from the fort is a beautiful experience. The path to the fort from parking area is filling with red laterite stones and is slippery. One has to be careful while walking on his path. It is advised to return back before it’s dark.

It is one of the best shot for photoshoot. Many films are being shot on this fort. It got popularized by the movie Dil Chahta Hai. And later got its name as Dil Chahta Hai fort. The area filled with soft grass makes it attractive destination for tourist to visit. The river adjacent to the fort makes the fort look even more beautiful. The view of Chapora from Vagator beach is must see

Day Out With Nature

Imagine a moment when you forget your stress, worries,

problems and just join in, ready for a back pack trek. Never in

your life had did this before. Forgetting everything behind

giving time for yourself, exploring the nature and beauty

around you. That's when you realize earth isn't that bad as

people say it to be . It is a paradise. what is needed is only

that you should open your eyes to discover.

I was maybe in 8th std when suddenly one day we decide to

go on a trek. First trek with friends. They invited me for the 

first time to do something risky, and I was so excited that I

couldn't even say No!

Our journey towards the nature started with a short train 

journey to Costi, Sanguem.

A journey filled with fun, masti and lots of crazy jokes.

The train journey was almost an hour long. And the pranks

throughout it much more enjoyable. The scene from the

window was another treat to watch. The nature made it even

more appealing.

As, the train journey ended we continued our journey with a

walk in the village. A small school adorned the beauty of the

village. The enthusiasm of students made us feel lively.

We had a memorable time with them.

Far away from the busy life of cities, away from the  

concrete jungles towards the heart of the nature; We realize

we are humans born to enhance the earth's beauty.

The village of Costi made me drown myself in the beauty of

nature. Villages signifies calmness. Stress-less life. No one to burden you, make you live in a materialistic world just sit in 

the soft grass gaze the nature and visualize your inner self.

Walking through the village, we came across a mine. Goa is

filled with mines extracting iron ore. Mines gives an

employment to hundreds of localities and its amazing to see

their dedication workingin hot blazing sun to earn 

their living.

Moving forwards we could smell, the soothing fragrance of

Szechuan Pepper(Teppal). It had just rained that day

which made our walk even more memorable.

On the way we saw a small flow of water. Completely filled

with mud.

There were idols of Ganesh lying there. Probably made 

of Plaster Of Paris(POP), which was quiet shocking.

 Probably the only fault I could count in this journey.

Plaster Of Paris(POP) is non bio degradable which means

it destroys the beauty of nature.

Further marking our journey entering into the deep forests of

Sanguem, we came across a beautiful waterfall. It is

said nature makes you feel clam, well let me tell you waterfalls

are a different experience all together. It is much lived

than said. The sound of the falls is lyrical, musical. You feel

as if you are hearing some great musician playing his

best instrument. And why not? God is a creator and nature the

best musician of all times.

Do you know which waterfall I am talking about?

Well, I don't think you do! Its not a famous waterfall like

Dudhsagar its just a small beautiful waterfall, in a

beautiful village which only trekkers will know.

I am talking about Tiger Waterfall.

Behind the waterfall there lies a small cave. As the name says

it definitely reminds of a tiger; Like the opening of his mouth

inside the cave there are few old idols of different deities.

Probably people worshiped here long back.

Admiring the cave was fun, getting wet in waterfall was even

more seeing the waterfall from a great height we realize

we are born to do much more than we have seen. There is

nothing kept in concrete jungle.

Leaving the place made me feel overwhelmed. I didn't

wanted to but I didn't even have a choice.

This trek made me realize one thing there is no much happiness

in going to famous luxurious places, if anything makes

you feel contended than that is staying connected with the nature.
